Client Case Study: Fabien Chater’s Unethical Behavior and Breach of Agreement

Client Name: Fabien Chater

Client Location: Morocco (Conducts business in the Netherlands)

In this post, I aim to clarify and document my experience with Fabien Carter to provide transparency and protect my professional integrity. This client has displayed unethical behavior and has not adhered to the agreement signed before the project began.

Overview of the Agreement

Before starting the project, Fabien Chater agreed to my standard three-step payment process:

  • First Payment: A deposit to initiate the project.
  • Second Payment: Due after receiving the complete website design.
  • Final Payment: Due after the website is fully developed and functional.

The agreement outlined these terms clearly, and the client signed it, indicating their understanding and acceptance. Additionally, I provided a detailed instruction document that explained how the process would proceed.

Events Leading to the Issue

  1. Initial Refusal to Pay Deposit: Fabien Chater initially refused to pay the deposit, stating they couldn’t trust the process without seeing work. As a gesture of goodwill, I made an exception and developed the homepage draft first, which I shared with the client.
  2. Deposit Made After Delay: After much discussion and proof of my credibility, the client made the deposit. However, this caused significant delays.
  3. Second Payment Refusal: Once the complete website design was sent, I requested the second payment as per the agreement. Fabien Chater refused, claiming they needed to see the mobile version of the website. To accommodate this, I went beyond the agreement, developed the main pages (including mobile versions), and shared them with the client.
  4. Unprofessional Behavior: Despite my efforts, Fabien Chater:
  • Refused to make the second payment even after receiving the developed website.
  • Admitted to not reading my messages or reviewing the website properly.
  • Sent derogatory messages and voice notes after I followed up on the payment.

Threats and False Claims

Fabien Chater has since threatened to tarnish my reputation online by calling me a scammer. These accusations are baseless, as I have meticulously followed the agreement and provided all deliverables up to the current payment stage. I have proof of:

  • The signed agreement.
  • Screenshots of our WhatsApp conversations.
  • Links to the website design and developed pages.

My Response

I maintain that:

  • I work professionally and ethically, as evidenced by my long-standing client relationships and successful projects.
  • The payment process ensures fairness for both parties.
  • Fabien Chater’s refusal to adhere to the agreement has caused unnecessary delays and frustration.

If anyone would like to see the agreement or further details, please reach out to me directly. I will not publicly share private agreements but am happy to provide clarification upon request.
